The Red Room
May 15th, 2008A work in progress, which basically is my end of career project! Have been working on it for a big while now, it is an installation composed by these illustrations, the texts that go along with them, videos and sound, everything trapped in a little red room. Images are printed in old rags, with the texts handwritten in the other side, and are hanged up in ropes.
It's my way of self-liberation, of expressing what I really feel in the only way I'm capable of: creation. These are the emotions I was never able to express, and they're my truth for the world.
NOTE: This project contains also images done previously of these specific ones. Their thematics and procedure was exactly the same (texts) and they were the true precedents of this project.
NOTE2: Keep in mind that some of the texts were originally written in spanish, so due to the translation some may not make any sense or rythm.
A Week of Heartbeats
May 15th, 2008This project appeared out of sudden. Each of the images presented here were done in a each day of the same week. In the middle of the process I noticed the way they were developing: as a diary-piece, completely autobiographical with worlds created almost out of automatic writing, like if I were unable to express myself via words.
Although it's a small project, it's been a very important point of inflexion in my way of working.
